LinkedIn questions

Didn't find a thread it would fit in so opened a new one, in case anyone else has any LinkedIn questions :)

How do you decide who to add in your LinkedIn contacts? I got a request from someone who has similar interests to mine and mutual friends, but who I don't personally know and who lives in another country. He didn't send any message. If it was FB this would be an easy no. Should I add him?

The etiquette on LI is to send a little message explaining why people want to connect. The general advice is to only connect with people you know or have mutual connections with. But it is normal to expand the network. It is for you to decide whether it is a safe connection. Once connected they will be able to request connections to message your ontacts.
