I'm doing fine. For the moment I am keeping myself busy.

I've been sorting out a bag of used stamps one of the volunteers gave me a few weeks ago. They are British stamps and some channel island ones. I find it very cathartic and keeps the mind occupied.

That sounds interesting, really glad that you are keeping busy.

On a sad note, my role at Oxfam came to an end but this was anticipated on Tuesday as charity shops closed early on Monday. Hopefully some of my former colleagues at Bucks Vision will call for assistance to talk, to go to the shops or anything else.

Medical Detection Dogs are holding an online quiz on Wed, 1st April 2020 at 7:30pm so have emailed all my friends. THE URL is below if there are any takers:

It's £3 to join and all proceeds go to the charity and a percentage of the total funds raised goes to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

Could you describe some of the stamps?

Sorry to hear that Chris, but hopefully when shops are able to open again you will be back working there again.
My son did an online pub quiz and said it was great fun.

The stamps are a mixture of definitives 'non-value indicators -1st/2nd' and commemoratives. I'm sorting them out because they are worth something to charities but also because Mum has returned to a childhood hobby that both my sister and I took up when we were younger.

They've expressed interest in us returning so hopefully won't be soon before I go back.

I think we are all struggling, but its important to try and keep a routine, would it help to focus on a special interest?

I picked up on the shops closing from one of the shop managers who said they were closing on Monday evening so was surprised to hear from me.

The shops will open again but its about finding things to do until they do.

yes it will be over but in the mean time we need to support each other, there are some amazing things happening online, to help keep us busy.

Have you thought about volunteering for this NHS voluntary service? I did think about it but wanted to keep my options open just in case some of the members at Bucks Vision need my assistance.

Yes. They were talking about it on the news tonight but I don't know what it is? I do not have my own transport also so that could be difficult.

 

[Paulette]

I think volunteering for the NHS voluntary service is a good idea, the village I live has also set up a volunteer group already the have helped 40 people.
